Bronislav “Brona” Stříž is an IBJJF-certified second-degree BJJ black belt and a professional BJJ coach in Brno. He is also listed as an IBJJF referee. In classes for children and adults, he draws on more than 25 years of martial arts experience and six years of teaching at primary-school level. His knowledge of technique, principles and tactics helps students develop their potential.
He began practising martial arts at the age of 11, studying aikido, seitedo and Muay Thai. In 2009, he started learning Brazilian jiu-jitsu from Brazilian instructor Fernando Araujo. Since then, he has attended seminars and training camps with figures including Gordon Ryan, André Galvao, Lucas Leite and Carlson Gracie Jr. He has won multiple medals at international BJJ competitions. In 2016, he founded Wiking Gold Team to teach BJJ, MMA and self-defence. In 2019, after ten years of BJJ training, his coach Mariusz Linke awarded him a black belt. In 2022, he left Macaco Gold Team and registered Wiking BJJ with the IBJJF.
His students regularly place highly at international competitions, including the IBJJF European Championships. The team includes a European champion, two runners-up and a bronze medallist. He has also coached two BJJ black belts who train at the club. Together with Polish third-degree black belt Leszek Jaremkowski of Forca Brava, he organises regular seminars.
